I just placed orders online for most of this year's Christmas gifts for the family (plus a couple goodies for me, hee hee). This means that my Christmas shopping is very nearly done ... in October. Will wonders never cease!

Of course, it would be easier to pat myself on the back about this if I hadn't been procrastinating horribly on pretty much everything ELSE that I'm supposed to do. I hope that by the end of the weekend, I'll be all caught up on the backlog of my "to do" list. We'll see.

It's halfheartedly spitting snow, but not enough to stick ... Yet.

Okay, so having committed myself to posting something in my Laylalawlor.com LJ every day next week, I'm drawing a blank on actual stuff to post. Hmm. *thinks*

Any Fairbanks-area people want an aloe vera plant? They're a cute little houseplant, fairly difficult to kill, and the cut leaves really do work to soothe burns and sunburns (just slice 'em open and stick 'em on the injured part ... they work!). I seem to have gotten my hands on an aloe that reproduces faster than a farm full of rabbits, which means that I have a million of them.

Take one ... PLEASE! )

Shiva (the cat) is so hilarious. And sad. He hates drinking out of the communal water bowl, where the water has been polluted by FILTHY DOGS, even if it's just been changed. This means he'll go to almost any length to get water from alternative sources, such as:

-the bathtub drain
-the dishwater
-the plant watering can
-half-empty glasses of water on the countertop
-my paintbrush water

I mean ... come on, dude. Drinking dog-water is not going to kill you. Phthalo Blue or fertilizer actually *might*.
