I'm editing and updating some of my Kismet stories from '99 and '00 for 12 Days of Kismet, and you know what? I write better now. This shouldn't come as a surprise, since I've been writing more or less nonstop since then. But I do remember that at the time I wrote these stories, it was the best I could do, and I was very happy with them. Now ... I'm not saying they're *bad*, and I'm not doing huge amounts of editing, but I see things now, in word choice and pacing, that never would have occurred to me then. I'm smoothing them, fixing grammar things, rubbing off the rough corners. It's kind of exciting to see how far I've come from where I was then, because I really wasn't aware of the changes happening.
