Back to work
Sep. 19th, 2004 10:18 amMy grandmother drove up from Anchorage on Friday evening to visit, so I took yesterday completely and totally OFF. Didn't do one useful thing. It was so nice -- my first real day off in about 2 months. We drove up the Elliot Highway to look at the fall colors, shopped a little bit, ate dinner at one of the nicest restaurants in town. And I slept a lot. I feel refreshed.
Today there are about a billion things around the house I *should* be doing, but I think I'll color Kismet pages instead.
EDIT: Chalk up some more moose for the moose count, by the way. Driving home from town yesterday evening, there was a mama and two little ones on the cat road.(*) I'm not sure if the two babies were the ones I've been seeing around -- maybe I just missed seeing Mama Moose before -- or maybe it's a whole different set.
(*)The cat road ("cat" as in "caterpillar tractor") is what I call the bulldozer cut that runs along one of our property lines. The previous owners meant it to be the start of a road -- they were going to put in rental cabins on that side of the property. Since they didn't go ahead and develop it, though, it's just a bulldozer trail that's kind of overgrown. It's one of my favorite places to go walking in the morning.
