Long weekend over. Drat.
Jul. 4th, 2005 10:21 pmIt was a suprisingly productive weekend, artwise ... helped along by heavy rain today that kept us indoors. I got most of this month's Kismet pages colored, some Midnight Sun pages done, and the August Freebird update penciled. I'm leaving for 2 weeks' vacation on the 14th, so I need to be well ahead on pages by then, and it doesn't look as if life will give me a whole lot of time to work on it: we're currently building a garage, and my inlaws will be in town to help us work on that (arriving tomorrow) and also MY family will drop by for a couple of days at the end of this week, en route to elsewhere. I'm quite looking forward to visiting and to having the garage done, but it won't leave much time for art.
Kismet will resume, as announced, on the 11th, on its regular M-Th update schedule. (I had said I'd try to have extra pages to make up for the hiatus, but it looks like I lied, as our last-minute July vacation has thrown me off schedule.) I am currently planning to begin Midnight Sun on the first Sunday of September, which appears to be Sept. 4, and will update weekly. Freebird will continue its monthly updates and there WILL definitely be an update for August.
I will be taking the Raven's Children book to the printer in the first or second week of August and then will work on the commissions that went along with the pre-orders so I can have them ready to go out with the books in September. Because of delays in getting the book done, the copies *may* ship out as late as October, but I'm going to try to avoid that.
At some point in all of this, I'm also drawing a story for
jkcarrier and I have a couple other projects for other people that have gotten pushed back until I HAVE to stop procrastinating and get them done. I promised to do a piece of art for one person 2 years ago and haven't drawn a thing for her. Bad Layla!
