More studio namestuff
Mar. 12th, 2005 01:32 pmA friend this morning suggested a studio name variation that I hadn't come up with on my own: Arctic Dream. I kinda like it.
The thought also occurred to me today that I may be overlooking the very obvious. What about Glacierdust Studio?
( What the hell IS glacierdust? )
I've been sick for the last week -- it's like the Head Cold From Hell. I missed almost an entire week of work, and I rarely stay home from work because I'm sick. I just had no energy at all... I'd get up for a couple hours, then go back to bed. And I can't concentrate on anything. A whole week at home and I only got one page penciled! Sad, sad.
When I did muster the energy to go to work yesterday, I was amazed at how much the snow had melted in town in just a few days. It's not so noticeable in our neck of the (literal) woods, but anywhere there's pavement, the sun-trapped heat has melted it clear of snow, and even the shoulders of the roads are melted off.
The sun-softened snow has been sloughing off the roof in deafening avalanches ... sometimes with dire consequences. One side of the boiler shed caved in yesterday. The snow on top was fine, but the snow hitting the wall from the side caused it to buckle. So far, the building still seems stable enough, but Orion doesn't think it'll be able to withstand the snow load next winter. I guess we'll be rebuilding it this summer whether we want to or not.
Went out this morning and fired off a few rounds with the shotgun. I have actually never fired a shotgun before ... most of my experience with guns is with rifles of various types. It's a single-barrel, very simple break-apart 20-gauge. Sucker can kick though. I pointed out to Orion that if we want to avoid becoming rednecks, target practicing off the front porch is probably not the way to go about it. I like living somewhere that you *can* shoot off the front porch without having the neighbors call the cops. In fact, the longer I live out here the more I love it. I've picked out a spot for my garden this summer ... now to decide what to grow!
Daddy got a scanner recently and has been scanning, and emailing to me, old photos of me and my sister. Should I post them here? Does anyone want to see more of Little Layla in Hippyland?
