I've got Kismet done through the 28th ... next week's page of Midnight Sun is mostly finished (just need to letter it) and the following week's page is penciled. I've also done pencils for some of the commissions that go with the RC trades. I'd like to include some sort of minor extra goodie to make up for the long wait, but I can't think what. Something Christmasy maybe?
I'm also thinking ahead to next year's creative projects ... as I posted in the forum, I'm planning on doing the first Kismet print collection in spring '06. It will cover chapters 1-9 of Hunter's Moon. This will be followed by a second book covering the rest of HM when it is complete, which I'm figuring will be next fall. Like the current RC book, these will be POD and probably not distributed through stores. For the third Kismet book, I have a special project planned ... something a bit different from the other two ... it promises to be fun!
I'm also daydreaming about attending Alternative Press Expo this spring. I had a table reserved for last fall's SPX, but had to back out at the last minute. It's been a long time since I've done a convention...
The end of Hunter's Moon is in sight. Probably about another 2-3 chapters to go, and I hope I can pick up the pace: once the RC book is done, I would really like to go to a 3-day-a-week update schedule if I can handle it and still do Midnight Sun too. I *will* be returning to Freebird, but probably not until HM is finished. It's not so much a matter of being able to do the work, as simply having trouble keeping so many mental balls in the air at once. I seem to be able to comfortably hold two universes in my head at once, but anything else is pushing it. For one thing, I start forgetting details of the characters' physical appearances, and I'm always having to look back through old pages to remind myself -- or just pushing forward and guessing! This is why some of the costumes in HM have changed in strange, minor ways over the run of the series (look at Signy's belt, for example, or Clay's armband).
