Today was a generally good day
Mar. 26th, 2004 05:38 pmThe good: I heard today from a (formerly) really close friend that I haven't seen in over a year ... he's getting married. I'm crazy happy for him. I've been walking around with a silly grin on my face all day because of it. And I'll get to see him when I'm in Alaska in April too.
The other good: My coworkers gave me a fun little going-away party and made me a cake. I got to take the leftover cake home.
The bad: It's been raining and the basement is flooding, although thankfully it seems to have stopped now, or at least slowed down to manageable levels. We spent probably half the day bailing (the sump pump won't work) and moving stuff. The basement is the home of all the computer equipment and Orion's woodworking/metalworking workshop, not to mention my huge pile of @#$%^& Raven's Children TPBs. Blasted Midwest flatness ... when it rains, there's nowhere for the water to go but into people's basements.
