So close!

Okay! All pages are lettered! That took much longer than I was hoping, in part because my computer has sprung an inopportune memory leak and kept running out of memory for Illustrator.

Now I have the back cover and inside covers to go. For the back cover, I think it's going to consist largely of an unpublished drawing I did a couple of months back -- I didn't get it done in time for the intended project, and never did anything with it, and it happens to feature the Kismet character I used as the main character in this story. Cheating? Ha ha! I've been awake for 23 hours after getting 3 hours of sleep! The word "cheating" means nothing to me now! ;)

Inside cover will be an editorial about the 24-hour minicomic process. Inside back will be notes on specific pages and things about the story. And I have less than an hour and a half in which to write them -- aaiieee!

DONE!

Incoherent editorial: check! Back cover cribbed liberally from previous, unfinished pinup: check! I think I'm done!

Now I'm too wired to sleep (you know how you get in college, when you stay up all night?) so I think I'll hang out for a little while, have that beer I've been saving in the back of the fridge, and start preparing my lettered pages to go online -- I'd like to have the story up tomorrow for my regular Sunday update of my sketchblog site.

Y'know ... this was really fun. I seem to have made my shoulders sore from drawing, which I didn't realize was possible, but I'm glad I did this.

Our street has filled up with emergency vehicles ... I counted 6 police cars, 2 ambulances and a fire truck. They've got the street all blocked off.

My guess is another accident at this horrific intersection a block away from us. It's a 4-way stop with very heavy traffic; the main street is a major thoroughfare, and the cross street is the main route for trucks going in and out of the Kraft foods plant. If it was a fire or something, there would be more fire trucks ... I guess it could be a drug raid or some such thing too (not unexpected in our neighborhood) but I don't know why they'd have so many other things besides police cars if that's the case ... maybe one ambulance, but I can't see the need for the rest.

I'm basically just procrastinating on getting my 24-hour comic web-ready, because I don't want to look at it again quite yet. So I'm learning to customize my Livejournal interface and use LJ tags. I liked this journal style when I saw it on [livejournal.com profile] trishalynn 's journal. Yes ... I am a follower. ^_^

I also like the notepad style, but the pad stays too narrow -- I don't know if it's my browser or what, but it makes the entries hard to read.

Now I think I'll try doing an LJ cut. Click if you're curious. )

It's up!

20 pages plus 4 pages of covers and inside covers ... I choose to consider it 24 pages, but that might be a very liberal definition of "pages". ;)
