Onwards with the To-Do List of Doom

Crossed some items off my list tonight. So many to go. *sob* But it does help, psychologically, to see them checked off. And just having them on there is an incentive to do them -- just to get the satisfaction that comes of making a check mark! Which was what I had hoped for. Now if I can just keep it up 'till they're all gone. On the down side, most of the items I've checked off have involved staring at a computer screen, and between the 8 hours that I spent staring at a computer at work, plus the cold that I got from Orion, I now have the headache from hell. Blah.

In other news, we bought a truck.

FINALLY we have four-wheel drive to deal with our goddawful driveway! Between this, the garage and the snowplow we're becoming quite well set up for Alaskan winters. We already have a pile of coal, we've topped off the propane tank, AND Orion scavenged a nice big heating oil tank so that we don't have to fill up the 55 gallon drum with 5 gallon cans anymore. This winter should be quite comfortable.

And finally, a picture of the Mop, just because I can:

Hello there! I took the liberty of adding myself to your friends list. In real life I am Caroline... a friend of Gregg's, I lived in Nerland the school year of 93/94. Your dog is exceptionally cute.

Hello yourself! And the dog IS cute! Damned annoying ... but cute.

Okay ... my memory for faces and names is EL SUCKO, and if you left Nerland in 1994, then I would never have met you, because I lived there from about 96-98 or thereabouts. But still. Caroline, friend of Gregg, sounds familiar. I remember a Caroline in Nerland who was kind of short and wore a kerchief over her hair a lot, and had a fiancee who lived in another state and had a weird last name. (Spot! The surname was Spot ... because I remember her? you? saying one time that it would make her married name "C. Spot". Damn, it's funny the things that stick in one's head.) Was that you? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Yes, that's me. I was actually there 97/98; I graduated from high school in 94. For a person with a history degree, I am not very good with dates. I am, in fact, C. Spott and still married to Mr. Spott. We live in the suburbs with India, our three year old, and Clyde, the sawed-off German Shepherd.

It's cool to know where various Nerlanders have gotten off to. And an alarming number of them seem to be on Livejournal ...

Heh, Mop looks *a lot* like our Freddy...sounds like him too -annoying in a cute way :)
And congrats on the truck! (as you no doubt recall, our driveway wasn't much fun either:P) May it serve you well.

Yes ... of course, we had to buy a giant gas-guzzling truck right before Prudhoe Bay goes into a temporary shutdown and gas prices soar ... sigh. After being used to filling up the Suzuki (12-gallon tank, a couple times a month) I just about died of sticker shock when I filled up the much bigger tank in the Dodge.
