Just a quick update ...
It snowed yesterday. SNOWED! Is that right, I ask you?
It's about 45 today ... Luckily Mother Nature didn't pull this kind of crap while Jane was here. The weather was slightly cool (mid-60s, mostly) but, overall, lovely for hiking and sightseeing, aside from our one trip to Denali in the rain (which was lovely in its own way).
Looks like Jane is posting a comprehensive travelogue at her blog here and I'm too darn lazy to do my own, so you can get the story of Janer and Layla's Alaskan Adventure over there.
I will be leaving on Friday to housesit for my folks in Alexander Creek 'till the following Thursday. No Internet, no close neighbors, just me and the woods. The general plan is to take my art supplies and get some intensive drawing done, since I'll have no distractions to keep me from working (aside from my own laziness, of course). It looks like there won't be a Kismet page next week, but if I do manage to get a reasonable amount of work done while I'm housesitting, I should be able to resume a twice-weekly schedule when I get back (I hope).
