Flaaaaames
Yesterday: worked, went out for Thai food, came home and set the woods on fire. Just a typical day in Fox.
... no, seriously, Orion has been clearing brush along the creek and he made a big pile of it last night and set it on fire. It was kind of a damp evening; things haven't really dried out enough to become a fire hazard yet, so it was just good clean fun in the woods.
Orion used buckets of water to control the height of the flames (notice all the low-hanging brush around; it would have been bad if it had gotten out of control). This was right next to the creek, so we had plenty of water.
And for something a little different ... a couple of shots of the creek's current state in the area around the footbridge (right down the hill from the house). The ice still hasn't gone out, so the water is running on top, and it's really a horrible color. I know it's basically from iron in the rocks, but it just looks ... bad.

The creek looks like a truck full of rubber cement fell over into it.
That'd be kinda cool... once it dried, you could literally bound across it.
