And so...

... the Midnight Sun preview (5 pages) is online. Here it is in all its ... er, glory.

I really love Page 5. That one page probably took me almost as long as the whole rest of it.

There's also some sketches of the characters that I've done over the last couple of years.

Ooh, intriguing! I like how it starts out all Silver Age goofy, and then suddenly turns serious. Looking forward to seeing more!

Many thanks, and I'm glad you like it! ^_^ The tone of this one will be similar to Kismet (http://www.girlamatic.com/series.php?name=kismet&view=current), where one minute I'm goofing on mobster cliches and the next minute someone gets shot for real and a character's life is hanging in the balance. Except in this case, I get to play with my love of superhero comics. Whee! I'm having a tone of fun coming up with Alaskan themes for characters and powers (while trying to avoid anything that Marvel or DC has done ... blasted Alpha Flight, there go half my ideas right there!) and silly Alaskan-style missions for them, like rescuing tourists from bears.

You're doing a great job, so far. If page 5 is the one with the guy in his room, then I'd have to say that I'm in love with it, too.

When do you think you'll be done with the first one?

It'll be a webcomic (with eventual TPB collection in mind). I'm going to work up a backlog of pages and then start updating whenever I get far enough ahead that I won't be in danger of missing updates if I can't work on it for a few weeks. Probably October, I'm thinking.

Started out a bit "campy" then immediately shifted gears- I look forward to seeing how it goes (and to check out your other works) as time permits. BTW, we saw "Howl's" last week. Wun-der-ful. Hope you get to see it sooner rather than later.
