More!

I looked and looked to find this one. This is from about 1978 while we were building the "new" house -- my mom leaning out the upstairs before there was even Visqueen in the windows, let alone glass (which didn't happen for several years).

This is the full version of the picture that my standard LJ icon comes from. I was drawing all the time back then, too.

Inside the house. Me and my sister on the floor. Damn, I remember that ugly carpet.

The house had no foundation and the floor was just boards directly on dirt. It was half covered with that awful blue and green carpet, and half bare floorboards. I remember that when I was really young, grass would grow up through the cracks in the floorboards in the summer -- very anemic-looking grass, but grass nonetheless. We also dropped a million things in the cracks in the floorboards by accident. Paperclips, toys, marbles ... I used to want to pull up the floorboards just to see what was under them.

These pictures are so great! I one of you on the rock and you in the snowsuit are particularly cute. And i also love hearing about Alaska. Lately it seems like all my friends are taking trips to the Bahamas and i keep saying, no i won't want to go, i would much rather go to Alaska. Maybe i romanticize about it but i don't care. Oh and thanks for welcoming me to your livejournal.

Thanks! ^_^

When I lived in Illinois, all my vacations were to Alaska. Of course, it was mostly to visit my folks...
