Creativity overdrive

It's been really nice, the last couple of weekends ... I've been able to concentrate almost entirely on creative projects. Which, I suppose, is good, because with 3 currently updating webcomics, I can't afford a lot of creative downtime.

I feel good about where I am on all of them, though. After I finish gray-shading one final page, I'll be current on "Freebird" until the end of February. "Nightfall" is caught up to the middle of February, and I don't think the 2-3 pages to finish out that storyline will really take me very long to draw. "Hunter's Moon" is the one that's lagging right now, but I had a plot breakthrough today, and I now have the storyline plotted out through the middle of summer ... all that remains is to draw and color the pages (which sounds like the hard part, and admittedly is the time-consuming part, but with HM, as long as I know what's going to happen next, drawing it is easy). And I just uploaded Monday's page ... I'll see how far I can get on the Thursday page tonight. I may end up having to finish it during the week, but I think I can do that. The next couple of weekends, I can focus wholly on HM and try to get ahead on that one too.

I went up to the University this weekend and took some reference pictures for the next chapter of "Freebird", which I will need to start sometime in February. FB is going to update monthly, starting in Feb., which means I'll be able to make the updates as long or short as I want. It's going to get a whopping big update in Feb. (6 pages) so I'm not aiming to make the March update very big. Maybe 2 pages, the beginning of the next chapter. HM is going to be my priority now for a while. I'm pleased to see that I haven't been having trouble keeping up with my updates while doing the other comics, but I don't want to start having problems, and I don't have much of a safety margin at all. If something happens, if I get sick or something breaks down around the house, I don't have a backlog of pages to see me through.

EDIT: Yay! Both this week's HM pages are done and I can go to bed with a clear conscience. I'm glad that I took a break from HM in December ... I was starting to get a bit dragged out by it all, but so far I've really been enjoying this chapter.
