Vanished off face of planet

I realize that I haven't been around much lately. Here's the Cliff Notes of the Cliff Notes of the past couple of weeks:

Crawlspace heater died. Rigged up strange Goldbergian solution to get by until husband gets home. Weather got -30. Water froze up. Husband came home. Water thawed out. Sister came to visit. Husband got heater working again. Woke up this morning to find heater doesn't work again, boiler doesn't want to go, weather is -20, crawlspace is frigid and now I have to go to work. Sigh.

My sister brought with her the first season of Beast Wars. Like just about every child who grew up during the 80s, I had my Transformers fixation, so we watched about half of the first season last night. In spite of the overwhelming cheesiness, it was a lot more fun than I thought it would be ... not only is it nice to look at and genuinely funny in a lot of places, but it's actually surprisingly dark. I kept thinking, This was on kids' TV? One of the good guys shot out Megatron's KNEECAPS in one episode, f'r cryin out loud...

More space than heat.

Beast Wars? Ugh... another one of those fans... Generation One is the REAL TF of the 80's. Actually, they've been cranking out these gorgeous new Alternators that use liscenced cars to partner up with Gen 1 Transformers. Like Hound, he's an actual Jeep. And the poseability? Best ever.

Sorry to hear about the heater, we don't have any in Trish's building either. She invested in a heater fan, which actually proves more helpful than just a space heater- actually blows the heat around, gently.

One step outside the room though, you'd be wary of a frost advisory.

I love Beast Wars myself. A lot. It's the only official G1 sequel out of the new cartoons, and the toys were great [and still are, since Hasbro's rereleasing a lot of them as part of TF Universe.
Alernators are cool, but expensive. All of Hasbro's BW-present TF's in basic, deluxe, ultra and above sizes sport similar articulation though [BW is where they developed the pop-off balljoint they love to use so much, which makes for poseable, easy to fix toys]

Whoa, where are you buying your Alternators (that is, if you're buying them)? They don't go for more than 20 bucks a figure, and, considering the amazing transformations and likenesses of their original looks (especially the heads), plus the fantastic articulation, we're the ones getting the better part of the deal!

These should go for more than 30, IMO. But I'm not telling Hasbro.

The ball joint is definitely a godsend for TF poseability.

My sister's heat is something like that. She doesn't really have a furnace -- instead there's a space heater with a fan behind it, which she says works much better than a passive heater by itself.

Actually the crawlspace heater is working now, or it was when I left for work. I think there was just some ice in the line.
