A perfectly valid question at this point is, why the hell was he telling this story to a five-year-old as a bedtime story, anyway? I suppose it's one of those situations where you start telling a kid about something that happened, and then realize that it's about to run headlong into a part that you really don't want to mention to a preschooler.
