I looked out the window this evening and there was a great horned owl perched in a tree above the creek. So naturally I had to molest it with my camera. This is only the second time I've seen one here, though I often hear them.

Just your basic owl, really.

He or she kept looking around. I could hear what I'm pretty sure was another owl calling, very far away. One of the coolest things about owls to me is the graceful way they move their head; it's very predatory and reminds me of the way that a cat moves.
