Today is a good day. :) I finished the rough draft of the cattle drive story, and de-gunked the toilet tank. (There appears to be something bacterial and awful living in our well water, which had coated the inside of the toilet tank with black slime. Ain't home ownership grand?) Kismet is done through early March, and I have a couple of long projects in the works that I'm fairly excited about.

It's really gorgeous outside ... it's been snowing all day, light fluffy snow, not enough to bring everything to a standstill but just enough to draw a soft fuzzy curtain over the world. Towards evening, the clouds thinned enough in the west for a gorgeous fiery sunset. I love living here.

Cattle drive story? Do tell. Sounds like either Jackie backstory or else a Frank and Fleetwood caper gone really, really wrong. :-D

I miss the kind of snow you're describing. :( Definitely don't miss ankle-deep slush or the cold that freezes your boogers, though.

It's a sci-fi cattle drive story - original story, about 5000 words long. I need to do the second draft and see if the plot comes together properly (it's kind of unfocused at this point). Bwahahaha, Frank and Fleetwood herding cattle ... if I could actually figure out a way to do it, I would be awfully tempted. :D

Well, it was about -25 this morning, so the cold has found us again. It's really lovely at this time of year, though.

Setup is always the hard part. I remember reading a quote from a comic book writer that went along the lines of "You have the greatest idea for a story, but then you ask youself, 'What would Catwoman be doing with a combine harvester, anyway?'"

That's an awesome quote. :D
