Hi, I'm alive!

Hello, world! I'm in Ithaca at my sister's place, and wow, it is snowing like crazy. We're getting the edge of the big storm that's been burying the Midwest; the forecast is for 6-10 inches (down from the 2 feet they were expecting yesterday) and since we've got food and DVDs, I'm just enjoying watching it fall -- though I really hope Harmony doesn't have any trouble with the transit system when she comes home from work this afternoon.

I've been having the most marvelous vacation. Hung out in NYC with friends from Stargate Atlantis fandom, and had dinner with trishalynn, which was completely awesome and made me all nostalgic for the old small-press convention crowd -- maybe I'll get to a show this coming year...! And I've had lots and lots of sister visiting time. We haven't really *done* much -- mostly we've talked ourselves hoarse, sung Christmas carols, watched a ton of DVDs and gone shopping.

(I do miss my sweet husband, though.)

I know! I keep trying to think of ways I could add a detour to Kalamazoo to my itinerary, but it's just not really happening this time.

Maybe next time I come down here, I could do it at a more clement time of year and schedule in a trip to Michigan. Or, there's always Anchorage...

Ithaca's pretty when it snows. (And then it gets ugly as the snow melts and you wade through ankle-deep slush for a week.) Jealous!

Too bad you didn't come back to Illinois for Xmas! I'm on my way back there now... if I could just get out of this *bleep* *bleep* *bleep*ing Arizona airport!
