Freebird - the "lost" strip

Huh! Turns out there's a Freebird strip I never posted! How odd. It ran in the paper -- it was the last one to run, in fact -- but for some reason I never put it up on the website; I'd completely forgotten that the last one on the site is not, in fact, the last one I drew.

Either that or I entered the date wrong when I did post it, and it's currently lurking in the archive somewhere, waiting to confuse people.

In any case, it's there now. I've also gotten the cast page up. New pages on Nov. 16! (Well, barring the discovery of more "lost" pages between now and then, I suppose.)

My web host kept sending me pesky "There is a security flaw in your Wordpress installation!" emails and offering me a handy link to click to upgrade, so I finally gave up and did so. I had no idea it would blow away my tags, sidebars and everything else, resetting me back to a base installation. It may be the problem is with their update script, not with Wordpress itself. *sigh* Well, back to square one, I guess! The Wordpress idea made more sense when I thought I'd be updating my stories more frequently, anyway; for a mostly-static library, HTML is probably just as sensible.

And yay! Voting! We have early voting here; I just haven't bothered to do it, because our polling place is very close to where we live and it's a very low-population district. I've never had to wait more than a minute or two for an open booth. It's more of a hassle to try to get over to the courthouse during its open hours.

The boy had an early class out at the community college, and since my wife was away I had to drop him off. It was an easy jump over to the county complex and election office. I got to hear the pre-job pep talk (straight party ticket does not vote for president or judges or soil and water) for the voting workers and then vote with three other stalwarts. All electronic so all they had to do was punch in my precinct and my ballot was set. In NC we've had record early voting and bodes for a zoo-ey election day. I think I'm brewing beer with the boy(every boy needs a mycology experiment in their bathroom) instead of obsessing with the wife on the returns. At least this year I won't be cursing Helms (maybe we can rid ourselves of Dole though).
