Sunday snowstorm

We had quite a little blizzard on Sunday. I hiked down the driveway with the dogs to get the mail, taking pictures along the way.

There was about 5 or 6 inches of snow when I started walking, and it wasn't coming down very hard. Here's the house, the driveway, and an unenthusiastic dog.

By the time I got all the way down to the gravel pit (about half a mile) it was snowing like crazy. This is the roof of the house across the gravel piles -- you could barely see anything.

Lucky was having more fun than his older compatriot. Our driveway is populated by foxes and rabbits; he loves sniffing out their tracks.

Another look at the heavily falling snow in the other direction, across the swamp opposite the gravel pit, looking towards Laynes (the business by the highway, closed up for the winter.)

Walked around the swamp and gravel pit to Laynes. Still snowing, though not quite as intensely.

Mailboxes! Success!

The highway lying cold and lonely in the falling snow, which is already starting to slack off.

... and off for the 3/4 mile walk back home.

Yeah, we do this every day. *g* It's a pleasant walk and the dogs and I both enjoy it, though on days when there isn't mail to pick up, I don't take them all the way to the highway (no sense tempting fate, since neither of them is very traffic-savvy).

Thanks! Lucky is a sweetheart, even though he's scared of *everything*.
