WTF?

How can it be -30 and SNOWING? Isn't this some kind of law-of-nature violation or something?

I'm not complaining, really ... this is actually our first real cold snap of the year, which is really incredible considering that it's already January. And so far, it's not bad at all. Supposed to be -45 tonight, but I doubt if it'll actually get that cold out at our place.

I tend to forget, when it's not happening, that the subjective difference between -10 and -40 isn't much to a human being ... not nearly as much as, say, the difference between 10 and 40. This kind of cold is really not that big a deal. It's a little annoying that it would happen to be the first week that I'm working part-time, though. On the other hand, I guess this'll keep me indoors, working, since it's not so pleasant to be outside.

I've discovered I notice the varying degrees of coldness much more now that I have a small child. My level of worry increases in direct relation to the decrease in temperature. ;)

At least it's not supposed to last long. I've heard it's supposed to get up to just -3 by tomorrow and above zero by Thursday. That'll seem positively balmy in comparison. :)

*heh* I definitely know what you mean about the level of worry. So far, we're weathering the cold snap with flying colors (though I probably shouldn't say that in case my patron saint Murphy is listening), but I'm very happy that it's supposed to swing back the other way.
