'scuz me? It's October already?
I just can't quite wrap my mind around the idea that it's almost the end of October. Time to start putting in orders for Christmas gifts to mail-order places. I'm feeling pleasantly holiday-ish. Perhaps this weekend I'll sort through the gifts I've already bought -- I've been picking up stuff all year long, when something catches my eye that I know someone will like -- and figure out what I still have to buy. And I'm also planning to get those LONG overdue boxes in the mail to Jane and my dad. This weekend is a "catch up on stuff" weekend -- time to check off all those items on my "to do" list that have been languishing for months, like transplanting the aloe veras or finishing up a couple of neglected commission sketches. Kismet will not have new pages next week; I'm also going to be working on the script for the next chapter. In lieu of updates, I'll be adding new content to my Kismet/artblog Livejournal every day next week. I've meant to post more over there anyway; it just seems like there's never time. And there will be something special for Halloween on my Girlamatic Kismet page ONLY, next Thursday ...
There's still a rather eerie lack of snow, although it's supposed to snow a couple inches this weekend. Mind you, I'm still not complaining about it, but we're starting to fret just a little bit about the septic tank. It hasn't gotten cold yet -- it's been between about 20 and 40 degrees -- but it *will* get cold in November and hopefully there will be a couple feet of snow on top of the tank before it hits thirty below ...
