I thought we were only supposed to get a couple inches of snow, which was then supposed to melt off. Instead, try five or six inches -- I just measured 4 inches on top of the Suburban's hood, and it's settled and compacted because it's above freezing out there.
Checking the Fairbanks webcams, it looks like it did melt off in town. I expect it'll be gone in a day or two here, because it is about 38 degrees or so.
The dogs are Good Dogs. They found the world's funnest chew toy on our walk today -- a big, fat porcupine -- but when I told them to leave it alone, they did. The porcupine unrolled and waddled on its way, while we went ours.
