We're so happy that Layla's happy. :) It was hard watching you go up to Alaska ... knowing that you'd be happy out of your skull up there, but that the idea of getting together at Pam's for a weekend would now take months of planning as opposed to days. Still, I'll take perpetual happiness in a good friend any day.
And yeah, we're finally coming back up into the teens-average area (40F yesterday, but 10F today) and the difference is startling. It's still colder than buggerall, but you no longer have to suit up as though you were going on a lunar expidition. You can go out with just a hat and mittens, leaving the longjohns and the facehugger scarf behind.
