Part of the inspiration for BlackHeart Raven was the flock of Ravens that hung around my yard for 3 or so years. They befriend my dog in a way, hanging around her circle, where she'd occasionally share food with them. They were BIG, but she was bigger, so I think she just liked watching them. They stopped hanging around after she died, but were pretty to watch [I liked em, no one else did though]
