That's a whopping factor in my writing of Hart's Farm and Monster House, and to a lesser extent Fiorenza the Wisewoman. I'm increasingly interested in portraying positive examples of family, friendship, and community.

Unfortunately that part isn't inaccurate. People with even basic civility skills like being on time or keeping promises are now so scarce, I can't find any local ones. The friendworthy people I know are scattered around the freaking globe. So if you've hardly met any, well, you might think -- nice people, unicorns.
