I tend to do the opposite - I sometimes get caught up writing mostly dialogue and have to go back and add descriptions to a scene. That said, I probably do also do this on occasion; my beta advised me to cut a paragraph recently which was internal musings she thought detracted rather than added to the scene.
Also, adverbs, I don't understand the hate. As with everything, so long as they're not overused, they add detail and flavour to a piece.
I always loving reading these meta type posts when people make them, which I tag 'writing about writing', because I always learn something or at least find myself thinking about something with a fresh perspective :)
