I think my legs just fell off
We went hiking today at Clinton Lake, a park about 30 miles from here. It's not exactly the trackless middle of nowhere, but it does have hills. In Illinois! What a concept!
The exact length of the trail around the lake is a matter of some debate. The official website says 9.5 miles; another website says 13; the trailhead says 11; and if you add up the trailhead signs for the first and second legs of the trail, they add up to about 11.5. In any case, it was a fairly long hike ... took about 5 hours. I now feel very out of shape and pathetic, as I inspect my blisters and wish I'd worn different shoes. I wouldn't mind an aspirin, but that would involve getting up off the couch to get one.
