Dave Sim: Still bringing the crazy

Found on Lukadia's blog - Dave Sim fans and correspondents must now sign a form stating that he is not a misogynist in order to receive a reply to fan mail (or anything else). Notice that he intends (or at least reserves the right) to publish these names on the Internet as a list of people who agree with him.

XD

I think he's long since reached the point where he's basically preaching to a very tiny and crazy choir, and otherwise making himself look like a total loon.

from Hamtramck!

He's mostly famous for being crazy, these days. He was a well-known and influential comic-book artist and writer once upon a time -- did a lot of work for creators' rights, encouraged young artists, and so forth. Then about ten years ago he totally went off the deep end and became an ardent advocate of the idea that the world is being ruined by what he calls (I feel dirty even typing this) the "feminist-homosexualist axis", which is aimed at destroying traditional masculinity. The basic core tenet of his theory is that women are inherently unstable and emotional and incapable of creating anything, and need men to shepherd them through life. With the gender dynamic inverted and emotional, irrational women in charge of things, women are now destroying society. He goes around talking about the Male Light and the Female Void (siphoning off men's creative energy, etc).

... and for some reason people think he's a misogynist. Can't imagine why! I suppose he'd come across as less of a nutjob if he wasn't so evangelical about his utterly bizarre beliefs.
